Popular Show “All Things Equal” returns to radio

The award-winning radio program “All Things Equal” returns to the area radio waves this month after a one-year hiatus.  All Things Equal is a weekly radio show co-produced by Cayuga Radio Group and Cornell University’s Office of Community Relations.  The show features in-depth conversations on race, class, diversity, equity, sustainability, and other important issues.

In 2011, All Things Equal received the “Best in Category” award  for electronics communications and interactive media from the SUNY Council for University Advancement. The show was also a component highlighted in this year’s Martin Luther Jr. King Peacemaker Award presented to Cornell’s Office of Community Relations from the Community Dispute Resolution Center and the Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC).

“We are proud to have this important segment back on local airwaves,” said Cayuga Radio Group Vice President/General Manager Chet Osadchey, “It adds a deeper level of conversation and engagement within the community that is imperative.  We will be expanding the segment to include its airing on Progressive Talk WNYY, as well as the podcast access at WHCU and WNYY.”

All Things Equal aired its 350th episode in 2014.  Cornell Director of Community Relations Gary Stewart, who produced the vast majority of segments, added, “The show has value because it’s not about sound-bites, but dialogue that focuses on the common good, and local realities. It reflects both challenges and opportunities in Ithaca and environs.”

The show has had a very steady group of local sponsors that continue to support the mission of this show within our community.  Sponsors for the 2015-16 season sponsors thus far include: Cayuga Medical Center, Wegmans, and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce.  Additional sponsors will be added later this summer.

All Things Equal airs each Tuesday at 8:30 AM with re broadcast throughout the week on WNYY.
